Voice: Techniques and Problems.

The work

The video presented on the page is a voice acting video I made, where I performed the role of The Watcher, the antagonist entity in a horror game. I also voiced over the protagonist of the Star Wars animation I did in year 6, during lockdown (my first ever stop motion animation).

Inspiration

I started enjoying voices, because I find the different modulations and voices humans can perform interesting. I have a genuine passion for acting and voice acting because the process behind the scenes and the actual outcome intrigue me. I am inspired by animated films, and how they use voice-overs to perfectly match the character, and I find the behind the scenes interesting.

Tools and techniques

I recorded it using a microphone I have in my room, simply on my desk. I used both CapCut and iMovie to record and implement my voice over the voice of The Watcher, using both the softwares to sync the audios perfectly, matching animated character voice-overs as closely as I could.

Challenges

I didn't find many difficult things during the recording of my voice-overs, except for background noise and syncing audio. Sometimes, I would have to retake lines often to make sure there was no interrupting background noise, and syncing was more time-consuming than I had anticipated.
